Summer of 2024 is closing in, and our crew is busier than ever. During the past few years after the pandemic, our team has grown, with Niklas Jauhiainen joining us as an Assistant Site Manager and Roy Bagheri as Project Engineer. Additionally, in 2023, we received additional help from Henrik Salminen and Jere Jauhiainen, who assisted in coordinating and performing cabin, corridor, and area inspections, among other tasks, alongside Marjo.
Top-Engineering Oy provided project management for Europlan Engineering Oy in Meyer Turku Shipyard for the Icon of the Seas. Our area was quite large, spanning approximately 27,500m2 and including 879 passenger area cabins.
Now, months after the departure of Icon of the Seas, and with 2024 well underway, we have already started working on the second Royal Caribbean ICON-series cruise ship, Star of the Seas. The new cruise ship is set to depart from Turku in 2025, with the first cruise taking place shortly after.
